What It Is: The Rubber Pressure Roller / Rubber Lower Roller (also called the Fuser Lower Roller or Fixing Unit Lower Roller) - the unheated, rubber-coated roller that presses the page against the heated Fuser Upper Roller to bond toner onto the paper, genuinely distinct from that heated upper roller. A worn, glazed or flattened pressure roller causes toner to smear, offset onto the back of the next page, or fail to fuse properly, and can cause paper to wrap around the fuser and jam.
