What It Is: The Main Motor / Main Drive Motor - the primary engine motor that drives the printer's core mechanism (drum rotation, fuser drive and paper transport), distinct from a Carriage Motor (moves the print head), a PF/Paper Feed Motor (drives the paper feed rollers specifically), or a CCD Scanner Motor (drives the built-in flatbed scanner carriage). A failing main motor causes grinding or clicking noise from inside the printer at startup or during a print job, the printer jamming or stalling mid-print with no visible paper obstruction, or the printer failing to complete a warm-up cycle at all.
