What It Is: The Tank Sensor (also called the Ink Sensor) - a small optical sensor mounted at the base of the ink tank that detects the ink level and reports a low-ink or empty-tank warning to the printer. A faulty tank sensor causes the printer to show a false low-ink warning even with a full tank, or to keep printing without warning after the tank actually runs dry.
