What It Is: The Pickup Assembly (also called the Frame Paper Path, Paper Path Assembly, Paper Pickup Assembly, Paper Path Unit or Paper Guide) - the mechanical frame/guide structure that houses and guides the pickup roller and the sheet as it enters the paper path, distinct from the pickup roller itself and from the electronic Pickup Assembly Sensor. A cracked, warped or broken pickup assembly frame causes paper to jam or misfeed right at the pickup point even with a good roller fitted, or the roller sitting misaligned and failing to grip the paper properly.
