What It Is: The Foam Pressure Roller / Foam Lower Roller (also called the Fuser Lower Roller or Fixing Unit Lower Roller) - the unheated roller that presses the page against the heated fuser roller to bond toner onto the paper. Some compact laser engines use a foam/sponge-covered roller here instead of solid rubber; check the part matches your exact model before ordering, since a foam and a rubber pressure roller are not interchangeable. A worn, glazed or flattened pressure roller causes toner to smear, offset onto the back of the next page, or fail to fuse properly, and can cause paper to wrap around the fuser and jam.
