What It Is: The ADF Hinge (also called the ADF Hing, Scanner Hinge or Flatbed Hinge) - the hinge that connects the scanner lid or ADF unit to the flatbed body, letting it open and close to access the scan glass. A broken, loose or cracked ADF hinge causes the scanner lid to sag, not stay open, or not close flush, which can throw off scan alignment or let the lid fall shut during use.
