What It Is: The Formatter Board / Logic Board (also called the Main PCB Board, Motherboard, MPCA, MLC or Main USB Board) - the printer's central circuit board that controls the print engine, paper feed and USB/network connectivity. A faulty formatter board causes the printer to appear completely dead with no lights, go unresponsive or stuck in a boot/restart loop, or fail to be detected by the connected computer even though it powers on.
