What It Is: The Cap Unit / Maintenance Unit - the capping/parking station that seals the print head nozzles when the printer is idle and draws waste ink into the maintenance system during cleaning cycles. A worn or clogged cap unit causes poor nozzle sealing (leading to dried or clogged nozzles), ink leaking around the parked head, or repeated cleaning-cycle and ink-system error messages.
