What It Is: The Heat Roller / Fuser Upper Roller (also called the Fuser Heat Roller or Upper Roller) - the heated roller inside the fuser assembly that melts and bonds toner onto the page as it passes through. A worn, scratched or overheating heat roller causes toner to smear or not fuse properly, faint or patchy print, or the printer to jam repeatedly as pages exit the fuser.
