What It Is: The Paper Cutter / Paper Eject Assembly (also called the Tear-Off Assembly) - the perforated tear-bar mechanism on continuous-feed dot matrix printers that lets printed pages be torn cleanly off the fanfold paper as they exit. A broken, misaligned or missing paper eject assembly causes pages to tear unevenly, jam at the exit, or fail to separate cleanly from the paper feed. Note: dot matrix printers use this manual tear-off mechanism rather than a motorized auto-cutter.
