What It Is: The PE (Paper End) Sensor / PE Detector Sensor - an optical photointerrupter sensor board that reports when the paper tray runs empty, working alongside (but sold as a separate part from) the mechanical PE Lever that physically triggers it. A faulty PE sensor causes a false 'out of paper' error with paper loaded, or the opposite - the printer keeps trying to print with no paper at all.
