What It Is: The Pump Assembly (also called the Frame Pump Assembly, Ink Pump Assembly or, in Epson's own part description, INK SYSTEM CAPPING ASSY) - the suction pump inside the printer's capping/maintenance station that primes the ink lines and draws waste ink during cleaning cycles. A worn or failing pump assembly causes the printer to not prime or fill with ink on first setup, ink-system error messages, or the print head running dry despite full ink tanks.
