What It Is: The Front Cover / Front Door - the hinged external panel that swings open for toner cartridge access, which on this compact desktop model also houses the manual feed slot (Tray 1 / Multi Purpose Tray). A cracked hinge, broken latch or missing cover exposes the toner cartridge and manual feed path to dust and light, and can prevent the printer's cover-closed sensor from registering the door as shut, throwing a false open-door error and stopping print jobs.
